Vocational Nursing Program

Train to become a Licensed nurse and become an important member among the healthcare providers.

As an LVN, you could work in different healthcare settings and help patients from all works of life. After successful completion of the program and passing the VN NCLEX exam, you may secure a job which will give you an opportunity to:

Program Description

The PTHC VN program consists of 4 Terms covered in a total of 1568 hours consisting of 610 hours of theory, and 958 hours of clinical skills in a healthcare setting. Each of the 4 Terms are comprised of content which builds upon each other. Theory is completed concurrently with clinical Externship. The program starts with VN100 which covers: Fundamentals of Nursing, Nutrition, and Anatomy & Physiology. After completion of VN100, the next term begins VN200 curriculum which includes these topics: Pharmacology and Medical Surgical I. Term 3 continues VN200 curriculum with Medical Surgical II. The final term focuses on VN400, specialty nursing care, which include Maternal Health, Pediatrics, Human Growth & Development, Rehabilitation, Mental Health, and Leadership and Professionalism. The VN student will qualify to take licensing examination after successfully completing the VNP theory and clinical hours. To successfully complete the theory portion, students must get a C (satisfactory) in all quizzes, projects, and other evaluation methods.

To successfully complete the clinical portion, students must get an S (satisfactory) in all areas of clinical skills performance.

The Program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform basic patient care and underthe supervision of a Registered nurse or physician in a healthcare setting. This program is designed to meet the curriculum requirements of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).
